Cabinets Archive

Since the earliest days, when houses were caves and life was very basic, men have looked for a way to save valuable things: their working tools for hunting and fishing, food (cereals and pulses) or firewood to avoid the rain. Thus, cabinets have always been an important piece of furniture, even if at that time they were only shelves in-built in the caves. Later on, cupboards, wardrobes, sideboards became  dominant pieces of furniture in each room and they have been designed with care and art. They can be one of the striking points of each room.

The term ‘cabinet’ is normally referred to as a medium-to-large size piece of furniture,  storage that has doors, small drawers and open shelving.  Though, at the beginning the first cabinets were designed only for the storage of papers and valuables and they were something that you would find only in upper class houses. That is why its maker, the cabinetmaker, was usually the most esteemed woodworker, because he had to take care of a very important piece of furniture, especially around the XVIII Century, when decorative elements began to show up for cupboards, armoires and other cabinets. With the industrial revolution cabinets became more popular amongst the wider population.

Cabinets are versatile, they can store food, bed linen, clothes, shoes. With their unique design, they add personality to any room.

They are the symbol of care and love, as they embrace and store your most valuable things.

Besides storing, they can also display, as they have a mix of doors and drawers.

Casapitti cabinets are renowned for being handcrafted with passion and care by Italian artisans that treat each furniture as a unique piece of art. Our cabinets are handmade and painted with detailed finishes, spreading layers of surfaces on our coatings (Stucco, Nero, Grey Oak, Dove, Driftwood) that resemble the colour scheme of the Tuscan landscape or the stucco walls of Florence, full of charming nuances.

Casapitti cabinets can last a lifetime because of the superb quality of the raw materials. Our goal is to offer a piece of furniture that stands out in your home but that is also easy to take care of because design and practicality can and should coexist.
